With the technology that is becoming more and more how soon do you think cell phones will be in the classroom. Also if cell phones are in the classroom and the students are using them for assignments how do we know if that is what they are really using them for. also when students use cell phones in the classroom are they going to text messages? if they are texting is it going to be in proper english or do we have to learn what all of the symbles and letters mean? If this is to happen I feel that the students english is going to go down the tube. students are not able to write now what is going to happen in a year or two. I just feel that if we start using cell phones in the classroom it is going to hurt the students more then help. also what happens if a student is not able to afford a cell phone is the school going to have to provide one for them? these are just a few questions that i have thought about.

  1. From what you said about Imblers online reading program, and from what i have seen in students papers--there english is already WAY down the tube! but maybe we are looking at this wrong, maybe the big picture is that english is simply evolving! and us "oldies" are just behind times!!!

  2. I also have been thinking about cellphones a lot! We spend way too much time suppressing them but I am not sure how to corral them into appropriate use. I can think of many applications for their use and feel that soon the country will be saturated with them. If every kid has a computer in their pocket, it is CRAZY not to utilize them for learning.
